Merry Christmas!!!

Wishing you a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from the Keevy Family!

We hope you enjoy the holidays and remember the reason for the season is Jesus!

Our Littlest Family Member

My blog has become neglected this past year, especially in the past 5 months....but for good reason. On July 26th we received a phone call and our family of three became four.  :)   Introducing our littlest family member:

Kensi Grace Keevy

Born July 25th, weighing 6lb 5oz and 17.5" long
Welcomed into our family on July 27th.

Kensi is loved by all in the family. Micaiah has transitioned well into the role of being a big brother. He loves his "Baby Sis". Gives her hugs and kisses and pretends to tickle her all the time and she just adores her big brother. She loves watching him play on the floor and gives him smiles when he interacts with her. I pray that they will become best friends.

Look Who's 1 1/2 Years Old!!!!

Easter 2014

Micaiah turned 1 1/2 years old back on March 19th. It's amazing how quickly the time has flown by! Here's the latest on our growing little boy from his perspective:

Food: I love to eat! Sometimes mommy and daddy think I will eat them out of house and home and I'm not even a teenager yet. Sometimes after I eat, I wait 15 minutes and then ask for a snack. I have recently decided that I'm a meat eater and while I still eat my veggies, they aren't my favorite anymore...except carrots! I LOVE carrots.

Talking: I've always been a talker, but a few months ago I decided to surprise my parents and speak their language too. They get such a kick out of it when I mimic the words they say or ask for things in English and Sign Language (ASL). They are so funny! Since they think it's fun, I've decided to continue encouraging them by talking. I even do 2 word and 3 word sentences every once in a great while....they really get excited when I do that!

All Things Energy: I am always busy. My day is packed full from morning to night. I mean there is getting up, eating, playing with my cars, manipulating my puzzles, playing with rice and noodles, playing ball and riding on my trike-bike. Oh and the bubbles floating in the air MUST be popped and I love story time. Then we do lunch, nap time, more play, run errands....I have a lot that needs accomplished. I like to keep mommy on her toes during the day.

Independence:  I am not sure what that means, but I do LOVE running and playing and don't really like it when Mommy and Daddy slow me down by holding my hand. I have learned to climb down from chairs etc and am able to climb up onto some furniture too. Recently, I discovered that I have amazing strength when I opened the heavy refrigerator door all by myself ....heeeey, so that's where all the good snacks are hidden....When we go on car rides I love to take my socks and shoes off....ahhhh, bare feet, the life.

Siblings: Right now I have the whole house to myself, but I heard mommy & daddy talking the other day and they said something about our family growing again through adoption. This sounds great! I would really love to have a brother or sister. It will be so much fun to have friends home all the time so we can play together.

Ok. Gotta Go. I'm hungry for lunch!

Believe- A Celebration of Christmas

Here is our Christmas Program this year at church. The choir & orchestra and children's choir did a wonderful job this year. If you look close when the camera pans across the orchestra, you may see Korry playing his trumpet!  :)

Merry Christmas to all our family and friends!

Jacob Chen - An Adoption Story

I have never met this family, but I saw this video on Facebook today and this family's story mirrors our own heart and adoption story in so many ways! I'm pretty sure I cried through the whole video as the flood of memories came back in vivid detail about the day we received our own call and held Micaiah for the first time at the hospital. Love our little boy SO much and cannot imagine our life without him. So thankful for all that God has done in our lives!

Happy 1st Birthday Baby Boy!

On September 19th our Micaiah turned 1 year old!!!!!! I cannot believe how fast time has flown over the last year. It's really crazy. He has grown and changed so much from that tiny 6lb 10oz baby that we brought home. Can you believe he now weighs 25lbs! He's pretty tall as well, over 31 inches.

The 21st marked another very special moment for Korry, Micaiah and I. We celebrated our 1 year anniversary of the day we laid eyes on Micaiah for the first time in the NICU. How tiny and little he was back then, but oh SO completely loved at first sight! We already loved our little man before we even arrived at the hospital. How can you not when God is dropping the most precious gift in the world in your arms?!

Sept 21, 2012
Micaiah's first birthday week was pretty fun and filled with lots of activity. On the 13th Gpa & Gma M. flew into town, on the 15th we went to DryTown Water Park. On the 18th Gpa & Gma K. arrived in town. The 19th marked his first birthday, first year check-up - including shots  :(  and a trip down to Bass Pro Shop. Here Micaiah had a birthday lunch which included Worms in Dirt. YUM! The 20th Micaiah received his first hair cut AND on the 21st we had over family and friends to celebrate his first birthday party.

A Summer in Photos

This Momma has sure been busy the last 4 months! Seems that every time I started a post, life was off and running again and the update never quite made it to "print".   :)

So here we go! We will start with some photo highlights of our summer activities. Hope you enjoy!
