So, What's Next?

So, our family has grown and baby Micaiah is home. So, what's next? Here's a look-back and look-forward of where things are at.


Milestone 1 - Home Study - completed

Milestone 2 - Waiting for a Referral - completed (double check!! YEA MICAIAH IS HOME!!!!!  :)

Milestone 3 - Post Placement - in process

Milestone 4 - Finalization - future


We broke it up into "milestones" to give you a better idea of where we are in the adoption process. Many have asked "what's next?" and some have thought everything is done now that Micaiah is home. Right now we are half-way through the adoption process and 1/3 of the way done with all the legal process/fees etc. Due to the sensitive nature of the adoption process, we will share things as we feel comfortable and as we continue progressing toward finalization. For now, we have completed 1 of 4 Post Placement Visits with our social worker (an absolutely wonderful lady!). The rest of the visits will occur over the next 6 months. From there we should be able to move on to wrap things up in the legal court system. The whole process takes about a year (sometimes less).
